Lava Flow
During his time in Polynesia in 1899, Elias witnessed the eruption of Mount Kīlauea. Standing on sacred ground, surrounded by chants and flickering torches, he watched as rivers of molten fire poured down the mountainside. The locals called it Pele’s breath. Elias called it “the closest I’ve come to touching the pulse of the planet.” The Lava Flow honors that night with flame and heat - an eruption in a glass.
River’s Rising
Growing up on the banks of the Sacramento River, Elias learned to respect the river’s ever changing moods. But it was during the Amazon expedition (1912–1914) that he truly saw the wild power of water. One night, flash floods swelled the river beyond its banks, and his canoe was nearly lost. “The rainforest wasn’t angry,” he wrote. “It was simply alive!” River’s Rising captures that moment—unpredictable, beautiful, and consuming.
TNTea
In 1905, while tracking elephants through the Serengeti, Elias’s team used dynamite to dislodge ancient debris from a collapsed trail. That night, under the stars, one explorer mixed a fierce local spirit in a tin cup and toasted to “clearing the way.” The TNTea is a nod to that blend of boldness and recklessness. It’s the explorer’s toast to controlled chaos.
Mirage
While crossing the high deserts of Nepal en route to Everest, Elias became separated from his caravan. With only his sketchbook and compass, he wandered into what he described as “a place between places—where the wind whispered truths.” There, he saw ghostly symbols in the rock, markings that would later mirror patterns in ancient Polynesian maps. The Mirage is a drink of mystery—a doorway into secrets only the desert reveals.
Davy Jones
In 1902, exploring shipwrecks off South America, Elias dove deep into the remains of a vessel thought to belong to a privateer. Among the barnacle-encrusted relics, he claimed to hear ghostly laughter echoing through the wreckage. “The sea remembers,” he wrote, “and she shares her stories with those who listen.” The Davy Jones toasts the lost souls of the sea—and those who laugh in defiance of its depths.
